While on a 15 city tour in support of his newest mixtape Just Re’d Up 2, YG came through and turnt up in OC last Friday at The Observatory. The 5th Element Mag was able to check in with him back stage for a quick Q&A session.
It was a full-fledged party that night as YG rocked the sold-out venue. The rapper leading the “New West Movement” performed songs from his new mixtape as well as some of his earlier hits such as, “Toot It and Boot It” and “I’m Good”. During his jam-packed set, YG brought out special guests and fellow California emcees, Ty Dolla $ign and Nipsey Hussle to help keep the crowd moving. Amidst all the young talent in the house that night, a most memorable moment of the show was YG’s homage to classic West Coast Hip-Hop. YG brought out special surprise guest, Warren G as they performed his and the late great Nate Dogg’s 1994 hit record “Regulate”. Needless to say, the house erupted as the legendary emcee and the New West talent came together on stage to perform this timeless classic.
The Just Re’d Up 2 show is sure to go down as one of the most energetic we’ve attended. Peep the video below as we catch YG after the show and ask him about the tour, 4Hunnid Clothing, and his up coming debut album, “I’m 4rm Bompton”.
