Sweet, sour, spicy, and bitter.
Four words that may or may not sum up your past relationship. Nostalgic moments racing through your mind now? Funny how simple words can do that. But we won’t go into that here, that’s something you might read on Single Life Musings. What we’re talking about here is a different kind of relationship, the kind of experience your taste buds feel when you mix culinary delights with expertly made alcoholic beverages.
The good folks over at Hennessy were kind enough to invite us to a food pairing/cognac tasting one fine night in Beverly Hills. The SLS Hotel was the perfect setting for an intimate gathering of tastemakers from all over the entertainment industry. We were greeted with a tasting passport to navigate the various tables and a signature concoction named the Hennessy Privilege Smash. It was simply divine, a nice intro to get us into the groove of the whole experience.
The “Bitter” Hennessy Privilege drink was paired with something similar to a Philly cheese steak sandwich. “Spicy” was paired with an avocado filled radish wrap. “Sour” was accompanied by a small scoop of caviar (ooh, fancy!) And of course “Sweet” was paired with desserts. Hungry yet?

A few days before the event, we were fortunate enough to receive one of the very first Hennessy Luminous bottles in the nation. At first glance the bottle looks like an ordinary Hennessy VS bottle, but once you press the button seamlessly placed underneath the cognac sign, the Hennessy letters illuminate the room with a lustrous flare! Who needs a lamp when you have Hennessy?
