Flatbush’s lyrical wiz kid and Pro Era general, Joey Bada$$, has dropped his long awaited mixtape, Summer Knights.  Initially slated to be released on the anniversary of his breakthrough mixtape, 1999, on June 1st, Summer Knights was pushed back to be released in July.  Any new music from Joey Bada$$ has been highly anticipated ever since the critical praise he received from 1999, so having Summer Knights drop within a season that’s already featured releases from such hip hop heavyweights as Wale, J. Cole, and Kanye West, shows the confidence Joey has in fulfilling all of the expectations fans have for him these days.  Guest appearances from his Pro Era comrades and production from the likes Statik Selektah, The Alchemist and DJ Premier, amongst others, should please plenty of eager ears who have been patiently waiting for Summer Knights‘ release.  And since the wait is in fact over, you can go ahead and download the mixtape HERE.  Also, Joey Bada$$ will be joining Wiz Khalifa on the Under the Influence Tour this summer.  Hit the jump for all show dates on the tour.
