Last week, SXSW was the place to be. It’s like the Coachella for indie music artists and fans alike with the amount of dope showcases from up-and-coming artists every corner you turn, plus, you’re in the BBQ capital of America. Dinner and a show? Take me to SXSW so I know it’s real. On another note, Cashmere Agency and SKEE Live came correct to rep the West Coast out in Texas by hosting a Respect the West showcase to show the indie-music festival just exactly which rib roast – I mean, coast – came the hardest. Headlining the showcase was the king of the best coast himself, Snoop D-O-double-G, leaving the place up in smoke performing his classic hits like, “Drop It Like Its Hot, “Gin & Juice,” “Who Am I,” and “Next Episode.” West Coast new kids kicked off the show, like YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, Lil Debbie, Skeme, Dizzy Wright, and Audio Push, with Kendrick Lamar and TDE rolling through and showing some love – probably after munching on some baby back ribs.
