An Educated Dress is The 5th Element’s visual slant on the seasonal offerings of various brands. Our intention is to give our stylistic interpretation and assessment on styles that we feel heads should take notice of. For this edition, we got our hands on some Junya Mafia gear and took to the streets to let the clothes paint our own picture against the concrete canvas.
Junya Mafia is a brand that hangs its snapback on an identity that celebrates a youthful following that’s as savvy about what’s the latest drop in the streetwear front as well as just what collections killed it at NYFW. This duality stems from the obvious tongue-in-cheek reference to high fashion and hip-hop that its brand name suggests. Reppin’ streetwear instincts with high fashion aesthetics is a marriage of both worlds that proves to be an effective mix of high/low, letting the wearer properly stomp through cityscapes with the same ease as pairing single pieces with a higher end motif, resulting in a fit that’s just as proper for a night out on the town or the usual sidewalk stunting with your incredibly swagged out cohorts.
