Pigalle Basketball x Nike Air Raid: Walking Contradictions In the Name of Stunting

Pigalle Basketball x Nike Air Raid: Walking Contradiction In the Name of Stunting

Back in 1992, when Nike dropped the Air Raid to a market that was at its peak for interest in basketball shoes, they had the intention of providing a rugged, more aggressively styled sneaker to cater to the ballers that were tired of getting their Jordans beat to death on the outdoor courts.  Trust that cats were not dying over their J’s just to have them go through the daily punishment of going hard in the paint.  Fast forward to today, where Pigalle recently launched a full collection themed around basketball, called “Pigalle Basketball”, natch.  Included in the collection slated for S/S ’15 are two pairs of Air Raids that come in colorways that will easily get demolished after one pump fake and two drop steps.  And really, though this goes against all original intents and purposes of the shoe, it’s all justified knowing that  you’re at least properly asphalt stuntin’ on the way to an anemic stat line.  Hit the jump for better views of the Pigalle Basketball x Nike Air Raids.

Reach loves the Lakers, breakfast, the sound of a Fender Rhodes, and rapping along word for word to Wu Tang's "Triumph." If you're looking for him, he's probably out getting chicken.
