We saw plenty of fresh and outstanding new gear out of some up-and-coming brands at the recent Venue trade show in Downtown Los Angeles. One example of such can be seen in the very unique and extremely fresh graphic tees above, coming straight from Hometown Kings. Besides these prime samples of dope gear we spotted, you can hit the jump to check out more of what we thought were the cream of the crop at Venue trade show.
With a strong headwear program to display, United Schemers definitely caught our attention. We love the variation in pattern and style, from their very fresh five panels to the more traditional, premium ball caps.
WOLF & MAN
Wolf & Man has grown a strong rep for consistently offering the strong cut & sew goods, and this summer season wasn’t one they’d miss the mark on also. We peeped some great shorts from them and knew that we had to put our readers on to these fine summertime essentials.
CSAW + COMPANY
Hailing all the way from Toronto, CSAW + COMPANY caught our attention with their fresh take on Kendrick Lamar’s classic debut album, “Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City,” via a simple, yet dope graphic on a hoodie.
A brand that we’ve shown mad love in the past, Lifted Anchors continued to win us over with more incredibly ill clothing. Their consistency in putting out quality basics with a subtly unique flair is something that’s worth noting. Make sure to keep an eye out for Lifted Anchors, because the sky’s the limit with what this brand can do.
Freelance was a brand that had a very eye-catching and visually dynamic booth, incorporating their own visuals with witty plays on standard classic branding. With some unique patterns and presentation, we hope to see more from Freelance in the future.
The packaging on Casablank’s tees was defnitely memorable, the way they had their shirts encased in faux vinyl record sleeves. Kudos to this brand hailing all the way from Montreal for capturing our interest through that route.
These streetwear vets are coming back in a strong way here in the States. After catering to a solid following in Japan, X-Large made a great impression at Venue with some dope offerings for future seasons.
E THE REAL
This Kansas brand was showing out nicely with a clean set of joggers and sweats. But what’s more, they supplemented that with other dope pieces that rounded out to be a solid collection.
Clean designs and unique basics were what LATOKYO had to offer. Boasting rare hemlines and fly cozy wear, this brand came on strong at Venue.
Xtra Kredit wins out on having our favorite booth at Venue. Not only that, they had a sick graphic tee paying homage to Allen Iverson, the point gawd, and his infamous “practice” rant.
Bobby Fresh held it down with a solid set of graphic tees that ranged from Simpsons flips to a very creative Biggie design that was definitely sicker than your average.
What we liked about Versalution was their solid, all-around line that consisted of well-designed cut & sew pieces that ranged from unique takes on the classic henley tee, to dope flannels, to even a fresh baseball jersey. The branding and overall aesthetic was something Versalution shined with.
