You’d think that as saturated as the men’s fashion market can be, there would be at least one easily recognizable brand that caters to the big and tall gents with high quality and dope styles. Yet the surprising fact is that none really come to mind that show love to the gentlemen of larger stature who desire to get fresh in some fly elevated basics, but have no brands to immediately turn to. Enter OUBLIER (pronounced ooh-bli-ye), a brand that remembers the “forgotten” man and caters to them a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that is befitting of the big and tall man who likes to live outside the box when it comes to style, art and culture. We sat down with OUBLIER founder, Jamaal Carroll, as he lets us in on what the brand is all about.
Who makes up Oublier: Me, myself and I.
Hailing from: OUBLIER was birthed in LA but I’m from a little bit of everywhere – Alabama, Detroit and Atlanta.
The brand’s message: We are for the forgotten, contemporary, urbane, big and tall gent.
The style of product OUBLIER offers: We offer basic everyday pieces that complete a wardrobe that can be dressed up or down!
The challenges of coming up: Funding, building a team, creating awareness and identifying an overlooked demographic.
What are some accomplishments that OUBLIER has done so far early on to generate buzz around their brand: Produce a solid capsule collection, land placement on Lamarcus Aldridge and being featured in The 5th Element Mag.
What you’d like people new to your brand to know about it: We are offering on-trend threads that specifically cater to the big & tall guy only!
How OUBLIER plans on keeping their momentum up: Increase marketing efforts, deliver quality products and partner with dope brand ambassadors
What’s in store for the future: Creating more and more brand awareness, hopefully a few collaborations disrupt the industry. It’s all about the big and tall takeover putting fly big guys on the map!!!
