There couldn’t be a more appropriate headliner for the bigger and louder Low End Theory Festival than Flying Lotus, Brain Feeder founder, mogul and longtime collaborator with music’s most sonic and social eclectic (read: Kendrick Lamar, Thundercat, Earl Sweatshirt.) Coming off a huge year since “You’re Dead!’s” drop last October, FlyLo hasn’t left the radar thanks to his own contributions to 2015’s “To Pimp a Butterfly,” and after inking a deal with Hannibal Buress’ show “Why?” as the in-house DJ. Couple that with some stellar showings at a cluster of summer music festivals like Governor’s Ball, Glastonbury Festival and Coachella, and after amplifying his signature visual set at this year’s Low End Theory Festival, FlyLo’s success is just going to continue to snowball. Peep a six-minute clip of the performance above, to see Lotus up the ante, transforming the Shrine Auditorium into a massive room of aural and visual psychadelic stimulation. Take notes: if the opportunity to see FlyLo comes across your way, don’t pass up on it.
