Nas Joins The Ghostbusters Squad For A HSTRY Clothing Collab

The first Ghostbusters movie came out in 1984 and it continues to build a cult-like following to this day. You either love the comical universe it has created or simply hate it because you don’t like funny movies…or ghosts. So what does the franchise have to do with hip-hop and streetwear? Not much. But somehow the Illmatic rapper fused inspirations from Ghostbusters with his own clothing line HSTRY. The result looks more like a Hollywood rendition of urban streetwear. “Slime State of Mind” versus “NY State of Mind.” Oh, so clever Mr.Jones. “Who Ya Gonna Call?”…when that hotline blings? And then there’s the iconic red “Ø” on what looks like a striped Off-White tee. Maybe these are all just creative coincidences and we’re reading into it too deeply.

Whatever the case may be, clearly there are hints of humor and imagination threaded throughout this collaboration. Whether you think it’s funny or not, well that’s up to you.
