Just in Case You Missed This…

If you missed the recent opening of Hauser Wirth & Schimmel’s new gallery outpost in downtown L.A., it’s not too late to drop in for a visit.

The Hauser Wirth & Schimmel art complex, whose buildings date from the 1890s to mid-century modern America, occupies the entire block on East 3rd Street in the Arts District. These historic dwellings will be one of a kind, as there will be no other commercial gallery space like it in Los Angeles or anywhere else in the country.

And for you feminists out there, Paul Schimmel, a long-time curator in the Los Angeles art scene, is now a new partner at Hauser Wirth & Schimmel. For one of his first offerings to the gallery, he is co-curating the gallery’s first exhibition of sculpture by women.

Aside from that, they show really big art.

For a glimpse, go here.

Astonishment and expressionless; a suggestion of sophistication already having been, while very campy and whisk in nature.
