When San Francisco songstress Illa pairs up with producer Trackademiks, the end result is a refreshing nod to throwback R&B.

Illa’s newest song, “I Remember” is a velvety recreation of 90s nostalgia: Trackademiks layers tender keys over Jodeci-reminiscent drums for a retro-leaning backdrop to couch Illa’s sweet croons about an all too familiar unrequited love.
