The iconic singer/rapper returns with a new single and video.
We knew something was brewing when three music videos were posted last week on Missy Elliott’s YouTube page. The videos for “Lose Control,” “Pass That Dutch,” and “4 My People” had us in a throwback mood and quickly reminded us of Missy’s undeniable talent and everlasting musical legacy. It has been nearly 11 months since we last heard something new, remember when she dropped “Pep Rally?” And about a year ago she came out with the intense dance-floor-ready single “WTF (Where They From)” featuring Pharrell Williams. So can we expect a full-length album to drop this year from the Grammy Award winning singer? We certainly hope so- it’s definitely overdue.
Peep the music video for her latest single “I’m Better” below, directed by Dave Meyers and Missy herself. The intense choreography, futuristic vibes, and signature beats make the perfect combination for Missy’s long-awaited return.
In addition to Missy’s new single and video, it looks like there will be a new documentary on Missy Elliott featuring words from many industry friends and past collaborators. Check out the trailer for the untitled documentary below, soon to drop sometime this year.
