Over the weekend, Red Bull hosted the Illegal Civilization Festival as part of Red Bull Music Festival Los Angeles. Illegal Civilization is an all-around collective powerhouse, dabbling in film, music, arts, and skateboarding. The event also celebrated the release of Illegal Civ’s film, ‘IC3’.
Taking place at the iconic Pink Motel, Illegal Civ creator, Mikey Alfred, brought his festival concept into fruition. With food carts, merch booths, a skate pool, and a theater, the all-day event was the perfect hangout spot for fans of the thriving creative group.
The festival lineup included various talented artists, such as Show Me The Body, Tommy Genesis, and 1TakeJay and more. Mid90s star and professional skateboarder, Na-Kel Smith took to the stage with a performance that reminded everyone that he is a multifaceted entertainer and talented rapper – performing songs from his new mixtape ‘Twothousand Nakteen’. The night also featured surprise performances, but none more jaw-dropping than Chicago legend, Chief Keef. Capping off the night was a performance from Grammy-nominated and celebrated newcomer Tierra Whack.
Today, Illegal Civ released a Mac Miller tribute video with unreleased footage of the late rapper. Make sure to check it out.
Tonight, Gunner Stahl throws his first event in Koreatown as part of the Red Bull Festival.
